Das Kaffeehaus - Gaestehaus Salzburg, Lake Lure, NC

     Das Kaffeehaus began as an Austrian pastry and coffee shop, but now has become a full German Restaurant that still serves fantastic pastries! With Austrian music playing in the background and birds and squirrels scampering outside, you can dine on authentic German cuisine for lunch or dinner.
     Chef Werner Maringer provides a selection of Austrian-German specialties, many of which are his own creation. Das Kaffeehaus has become a "destination" for diners from Charlotte, Greenville/Spartanburg, Asheville, and the Hickory Nut Gorge communities. Complete lunch and dinner menus can be found on their website. Reservations are recommended.
     The restaurant is located at the Gaestehaus Salzburg Bed & Breakfast in Lake Lure. It is on Hwy 74-A, 2.5 miles east of Lake Lure Beach (or) one mile west of the intersection with Hwy 9. It is also serviced by the Hickory Nut Trolley (stop #9).

Duncan's Bar-B-Que, Chimney Rock, NC

     Duncan's Bar-B-Que has been serving the area since 1967. We specialize in hickory smoked Bar-B-Que pork, both sliced and minced, hickory smoked ribs, sold by the portion, pound, or rack, delicious Bar-B-Que Chicken, and all beef jumbo hotdogs.
     Dinners include some of the best homemade slaw and baked beans in the area.
     Located along the river in Chimney Rock Village, we offer riverside picnic tables with a beautiful view of the Rocky Broad River and surrounding mountains.
     Open Wednesday - Sunday and weekends only during the Winter.

Genny's Family Restaurant, Chimney Rock, NC

     Genny's Family Restaurant is a totally smoke free and alcohol free restaurant. They specialize in home style cooking with a wide variety of vegetables and side orders such as real mashed potatoes, pinto beans, grandma's green beans, homemade coleslaw, potato salad, rice & gravy, hushpuppies, and cornbread.
     Lunch and dinner specials include homemade chicken and dumplings, country style steak, and locally raised fresh mountain trout. Desserts include homemade apple pie and hot blackberry cobbler.
     Dine inside were you can relax to soft Christian music or dine on their deck over the Rocky Broad River. They have a special gift section featuring a variety of Christian music, t-shirts, and gifts.
     Open rear round Monday through Saturday. Never on Sunday. They're located in Chimney Rock Village next to Duncan's Bar-B-Que.

     Laura's House provides family-style home cooking served with Southern hospitality. Located across the street from the entrance to Chimney Rock Park, it serves "all you can eat" Southern family-style meals. Completely renovated in 2001, the restaurant continues a 130 year tradition of serving meals on this property. Fine food, great views, and Southern hospitality!
     The restaurant has a seating capacity of 160, making it the ideal place for large groups for breakfast, lunch and dinner.   Two full-time marketing personnel on staff will assist in scheduling and accommodating any size group that might need to schedule a reception, luncheon, reunion or dinner.
     Laura's House is a completely renovated three-story building with a second story balcony overlooking the Rocky Broad River and the shops of the Village. The third story houses a stage where entertainment will be showcased. Large windows at each end of the restaurant allow wonder views of the mountains and the river.
